Om
Interaktivt teater
Indenfor overskuelig fremtid ønsker That Theater Company at lancere et nyt tiltag inden for engelskundervisning.

The play explores themes of isolation, loneliness, social disparity and dehumanization in a commercial world.
This one-act play concerns two characters, Peter and Jerry. Peter is a middle-class publishing executive with a wife, two daughters, two cats and two parakeets who lives in ignorance of the world outside his settled life. Jerry is an isolated and disheartened man who lives in a boarding house. These men meet on a park bench in New York City's Central Park. Jerry is desperate to have a meaningful conversation with another human being. He intrudes on Peter’s peaceful state and talks about the reason behind his visit to the zoo. The action is linear, unfolding in front of the audience in “real time” and the elements of ironic humour and unrelenting dramatic suspense are brought to.
Not to be missed.
Edward Albee is the writer of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf.

Forår 2012 hos That Theatre
- Our aims: That Theatre aims in producing Shakespeare Unplugged to put Shakespeare into an everyday modern setting that ordinary people can relate to. We endeavour to break down the constrictive walls of a traditional theatrical setting.
- This is the continuation of an experiment that director Barry McKenna began with award winning Flammens Muse which sought to strip away the settings, the props and the elaborate costumes leaving just the words and situations of Shakespeare to clothe the actors.
- Shakespeare Unplugged goes a step further. Not only does it intend to dismantle the fourth wall and invite the audience in but actually places them onstage (a phenomenon not unknown in Shakespeare’s day). It also encourages them to take an active role in the plot, not just as themselves but also as Shakespearean characters. “And let us, ciphers to this great accompt On your imaginary forces work.”
- We hope that by the end of a unique kind of theatre experience the actors and audience will have made a new kind of connection between them and that everyone will leave the theatre with a new appreciation and understanding of one of the world’s best loved playwrights. The experiment continues…with Shakespeare Unplugged.
