Her finder du masser af lektionsplaner til undervisningen inden for forskellige emner. I New York Times' Learning Network kan man finde mange konkrete lektionsplaner til arbejdet med emner som "Fine Arts", "American History", "Journalism" eller "Technology". Siden indeholder mange relevante emner for såvel engelsklærere på stx, hhx, htx og hf. Her på siden finder du et lille udvalg af lektionsplaner. In this lesson, students learn about the 20 percent increase in deportations of undocumented immigrants over the last year, and the impact deportation has had on one immigrant family in the United States. They then retell the story of the deportation from multiple points of view.
From America With Love
Writing Letters from Imaginary Immigrants to Relatives Back Home:In this lesson, students reflect on and research the experiences of specific immigrant groups in the United States. For homework, they write letters from imaginary immigrants to relatives in their countries of origin, including historically accurate details.
The Nobel Prize in Literature

She's all over the map
In this lesson, students consider female authors and their literature. They then each research and map the life and work of a particular Nobel Prize-winning female author, and write individual letters expressing their thoughts and admiration.
Do the Write Thing
In this lesson, students will explore the qualities that make a classic writer's work special and compose newspaper articles celebrating the works of different authors.
Life in Letters
In this lesson, students consider the relationship between an author's life and his or her work. By researching the historical and personal events surrounding a Nobel Prize winning author, students will gain insight into how these events inspired, and were reflected in, the author's writing.

Campus Catastrophe
In the wake of the April 16, 2007, campus shooting at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, deemed the deadliest shooting rampage in United States history, students are encouraged to share their personal responses through discussion and the creation of “found poetry” culled from news stories about the event.
Taking Aim at Violence in Schools
In the wake of the April 20, 1999, school shootings at Columbine High School in Colorado, students are encouraged to share, through discussion and writing, their feelings about violence in schools, as well as about ways in which such tragedies could be prevented.
School Safety Net
In this lesson, students consider warnings signs of possible school violence and create scenarios that demonstrate how violence might be averted. They then generate a guidebook to help students confront violence before it happens.

In this lesson, students conduct research and create posters illustrating famous inventors and their inventions. For homework, they write essays reflecting on the history and future of American innovation.

Working with the New York Times and Wikipedia
In this lesson, students will compare and contrast Times Topics pages with Wikipedia as potential sources of information and use Times Topics pages to tackle classroom research questions.

Det er muligt at modtage lektionsplaner på mail. Hver dag modtager man en mail med et link til en lektionsplan. Det eneste det kræver er, at man registrerer sig som bruger på New York Times' hjemmeside
Emner i dybden
"Issues in Depth" fra The Learning Network behandler vigtige historiske og aktuelle begivenheder i dybden. Beskrivelsen af hvert emner indeholder mange lærerressourcer, som fx lektionsplaner, quizzer, spørgeskemaer, slide shows, artikler fra NY Times og lignende materiale.
