The “Historiana.eu” initiative is an online multimedia tool, on Common Themes in European History and Heritage and will be used for educational purposes in classrooms, museums and heritage settings providing a plurality of perspectives with respect for inter- and intra-state diversity. Since January 2010 a team of editors and contributors from more than 15 countries from Europe and beyond are working to make the first material scheduled to be online and ready to be implemented during the first training activity. The training course is a unique opportunity to share good practices and ideas with colleagues from all over Europe and to actively contribute the development of Historiana.
Colleagues from countries participating in the Lifelong Learning Programme can apply for a Comenius/Grundtvig Grant at their National Agency to participate in the course and receive training on the development and implementation of multiperspective and inclusive material on the common theme ‘People on the Move’.

We realize that the deadline for the European Grants is very short, however, we were eager to make use of the first opportunity that there was within the Lifelong Learning Programme to reach out to the wider EUROCLIO network. Within the “Historiana.eu” initiative regular training events will be scheduled taking into account the deadlines for applying for European Grants. The next training event which is currently under development has a deadline on September 15th 2010. If this applies to you, please send an email to Maria Kazamiaki at maria@euroclio.nl
We are looking forward to hearing from you!
